Vitamin B6 Health Benefits Explained

Getting the full spectrum of vitamins and minerals as an important part of health is something that has been known about for a long time. Every now and then it is good to take a closer look at some of the specific vitamins our body needs, so we can understand the health benefits they give us. This article takes a look at the b6 vitamin, so please read ahead if you are interested.

To start off, b6 is a very important vitamin for all of us to have. Its part of the 8 water soluble vitamins that make up the complete b vitamin. At one time B was thought of as a singular vitamin like A or C, but it was discovered that there were slightly different chemical make ups in each of the 8 B nutrients, and that each carried out different process when is comes your various cells metabolisms.

If you look around the web or in your scientific journals you will find very detailed and technical explanations of what b6 is composed of and how it interacts within your cells. This is meant as a simple overview, so please forgive the basic information, but if you boil down the jargon, you will find that b6 vitamin essentially aids the differing enzymes to do their jobs in your cells. Kind of like a supervisor that keeps everything moving along smoothly or a middle man that helps connect the transfer of goods between buyers and sellers.

More importantly to know for us non-science types is what its health benefits are. For instance, b6 vitamin supplements have been known to increase the vividness of dreams as well as make them easier to remember when you wake up.

On a more practical note, it is also used in a preventative care nature. Vitamin b6 supplements have show in some studies to reduce a persons chance of getting Parkinson’s disease by as much as 50 percent. In case of autism, b 6 supplements have been used as a natural supplement to reduce symptoms.

It is also common for people to take b6 to help lesson the effects of a hangover the day after a long night of partying or even to reduce morning sickness in the early months of pregnancy.

In terms of the type of b 6 supplement to use, liquid vitamin b6 supplements are the most encouraged because of the bodies ability to absorb a liquid vitamin so much more easily and efficiently than a hard pill. If all you have is pill form, then it is at least better than nothing. Unfortunately, a good deal of the benefits of hard vitamins are flushed through the system before the body has a chance to break them down and absorb them.

This has just been a short description of the health benefits of vitamin b6. Hopefully, you have learned something helpful and it will inspire you to take a closer look at each of the individual vitamins and minerals our bodies need everyday.

James provides information about the liquid vitamin b6 through his website on liquid vitamin b supplement.

The Health Benefits of Eating a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is an important meal and healthy way to refuel your body to get you in gear for the day ahead. Never overlook this meal. Learn to select healthy options that fit your taste and lifestyle.

Review below some of the benefits of a healthy breakfast:

•	A healthy breakfast can start your day off right •	A healthy breakfast refuels your body to help jump-start your day •	Eating a healthy breakfast helps you to consume more vitamins and minerals, less fat and cholesterol •	A healthy breakfast gives you the ability for better concentration and productivity throughout the morning •	A healthy breakfast helps you to control weight •	A healthy breakfast can help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease

Encourage your children and adolescents to eat a healthy breakfast. It is especially important for these two age groups. The American Dietetic Association says children who eat a healthy breakfast are more likely to have better concentration, problem-solving skills and eye-hand coordination. In addition, these children may also be more alert, and less likely to miss days of school. Creativity may be easier for children who eat a healthy breakfast.

What exactly is a healthy breakfast? A healthy breakfast should be a variety of foods like whole grains, low-fat protein or dairy sources, and fruit. All these food groups provide complex carbohydrates, protein and a small amount of at. This is a winning combination to delay hunger symptoms for longer periods of time.

One way of being sure you eat a healthy breakfast each day is to choose one item from at least three of the following food groups:

•	Fruits and vegetables (if you choose juice, it should be 100 percent juice without added sugar) •	Grains such as rolls, bagels, hot or cold whole-grain cereal, low-fat bran muffins or Melba toast •	Dairy such as skim milk, low-fat yogurt cups or low-fat cheese like cottage and natural cheeses •	Protein like hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter, lean slices of meat

A quick breakfast on the go could be dry, ready-to-eat cereal with a banana and low-fat or skim milk. Choose cereal higher in fiber. If counting calories, choose cereals lower in calories. Carnation Instant Breakfast drink has always been a favorite of mine for breakfast in a hurry. Oatmeal is another good choice, but may not be appropriate if you are on the go or in a hurry. Hard boiled eggs are easy to take with you. Eggs are full of nutrients. I could not get through a week without my eggs, either hard boiled or medium over.

If you eat out for breakfast you can still make healthy choices. Whole-grain bagels, rolls and English muffins are better than fat-filled doughnuts, scones, croissants or biscuits. Try to do without the oversized breakfast sandwiches, the bacon, the sausage and whole milk; these are not your best choices for a healthy breakfast.

If time never seems to be on your side, try to figure out what you will eat the night before and up a little earlier to enjoy it. You can also try packing something to take with you. Never think you are saving calories by skipping breakfast. You will probably end up “starving” by lunchtime and possibly overeat, or midmorning hunger leads you to grab for a high-fat treat just because it is quick to stuff into your mouth.

Remember that making nutritious breakfast choices can lay the foundation for healthier eating all day long. A healthy breakfast should definitely be something you fit into your daily schedule.

Avoid Food/Beverages That Cause Acid Reflux, Change Your Lifestyle

Many people get hungry because they lack food. Children become malnourished if they are not given the right amount of food which contains the needed vitamins and minerals which in turn make the body strong and healthy.

The fact is, not all foods are healthy. The most popular unhealthy food is ‘junk foods’. Just as the word suggests, junk, which means it is like garbage. But many people are still patronizing these kinds of food.

People diagnosed with certain diseases often are given a list of foods to avoid. And this is true with the case of a person having acid reflux. Acid reflux or the GERD is a condition wherein stomach acids go back to the esophagus because of the improper functioning of the lower esophageal sphincter. If this condition is not treated, it will only get worse which can cause serious complications.

You can effectively tell if you have acid reflux if you experience symptoms like sour taste, burning sensation in the chest or upper abdomen and your throat’s back, excessive belching, breathing difficulties, tightness of throat, difficulty in swallowing food, and bad breath.

If you frequently experience these symptoms, then you probably have acid reflux. Visit your doctor to get an accurate diagnosis, so that you will know the severity of your condition.

There are certain beverages and foods which cause acid reflux, and this includes the following:

-	chocolate
-	coffee
-	spearmint and peppermint
-	alcoholic drinks
-	fruit juices
-	fatty foods and fried foods
-	onions
-	citrus fruits
-	spicy foods
-	products which are tomato-based
-	caffeinated drinks

A change in your diet is the most effective way to deal with acid reflux. Although at first you may feel deprived of these foods, think of what will happen if you continue to eat or drink these beverages and foods.

Start your change in diet by keeping a record of your food intake. In this manner, you can tell which of the foods or beverages causes your acid reflux. So every time you experience that burning sensation, take note of what you’ve actually eaten. Once you have the list accomplished, put it somewhere where you can easily see it, like the refrigerator.

A lifestyle change may seem rather difficult. Your doctor can greatly help you in your transition. The very first thing that you should do is to set a goal, like for instance eating small meals, while avoiding those above-mentioned foods. Slowly quit smoking and drinking. Of course, you can’t expect an abrupt change.

Every time you feel any of the symptoms, you will be instantly reminded that you’re on the wrong path. Self-discipline is very much important to attain a successful lifestyle change.

While many people are taking antacids, others are finding it better to stick with the natural way. On the long run, antacids are not that good for your body, even to your stomach. It would be better to start changing your lifestyle, the sooner the better.

Besides, a healthy lifestyle doesn’t only prevent acid reflux but other diseases as well. You will gain more benefit in changing your life entirely, especially regarding food eating habits. Eat the right kinds of food at the right amount, and you’ll stay healthy. Prevent acid reflux, change…

How to Overcome Low Stomach Acid

Stomach acid is required for the absorption of nutrients and the control of undesirable microorganisms and it becomes the body’s first line of defense against infections, effectively sterilizing your food. In addition, it is also required for the breakdown of protein in the stomach. However, its action on protein breakdown is only effected in the presence of pepsinogen where the two combines to form a very powerful enzyme called pepsin. Low stomach acid is called hypochlorhydria while its absence is referred to as achlorhydria. These two states have been associated with carcinoid tumours in the digestive tract. Half of the population above the age of 60 suffers from hypochlorhydria.

You must be concerned with low stomach acid because a lack of the acid will leave you unable to digest your food properly and this will also make you more vulnerable to infections. This condition leads to indigestion especially with high protein meals. Food allergies will arise because of the large amount of undigested protein molecules in the small intestine. The body cells such as in the pancreas need vitamins and minerals to produce enzymes to digest food. If there is indigestion, none of the nutrients will be available to feed the cells and thus these cells cannot produce the enzymes.

Symptoms of low stomach acid include burping, bad breath, flatulence, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and indigestion associated with protein rich foods. These undigested foods hang around in the small intestine, feeding the bacteria that live there. These bacteria produce gas and that is why there is bloating, digestive pain and flatulence.

In order to solve the problem, you need to do the following:

1.	Take zinc supplement as zinc is critical to the proper functioning of body cells. The soil is heavily depleted of zinc. The production of stomach acid is dependent on the sufficient intake of zinc.

2.	Avoid stress as this emotional state will suppress stomach acid.

3.	A digestive enzyme supplement is required to assist in the digestion of food.

4.	A daily dose of a multi vitamins and minerals tablet is required to assist in the production of enzymes.

5.	Do not rush through your meals, and chew thoroughly.

The Importance of Senior Health

Growing older often means a heightened awareness of our bodies and common ailments that can occur more frequently. Issues such as incontinence, joint and muscle stiffness, or lack of balance become normal parts of our lives that we can minimize by pursuing a healthy, active lifestyle. Listening more closely to what your body is telling you, and incorporating some basic habits into your daily routine can greatly improve quality of life and possibly prevent some more serious health issues in the future.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a senior is very important and can be implemented with a few simple changes. Proper senior care and senior health can not only improve your quality of living, but can also extend the length of your life. It keeps the mind and body fit, protects against and fights off disease, and keeps current ailments from growing worse.

Ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle includes staying active. Participate in fun, rigorous activities such as water aerobics, brisk walking, golf or tennis. With increased activity, it’s important to maintain a healthy diet as well. A complete daily vitamin is vital for supplementing your daily food intake. Make sure to eat well-balanced meals and in moderation. Taking in more calories per day than is burned could lead to obesity and other serious health ailments such as diabetes. Overall, you should remain active as you grow older and continue to eat foods that are full of nutritional value that also contain important vitamins and minerals to sustain a healthy, active body.

Common Senior Health Ailments The natural aging process occurs both mentally and physically over the years, and it’s our job to make sure we are providing both our brain and our body with regular tune ups. Medical experts believe that there is a strong correlation between staying physically active and maintaining a sound mind. When the body constantly utilizes the mind to perform physical activities, the mind grows stronger and, as research has shown, can slow down the progress of mental diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

Although age undeniably takes its toll on the mind and body, there are numerous ways to prevent or even ease the progression of certain ailments. For instance, osteoporosis can be prevented early by getting daily recommended amounts of calcium and Vitamin D. Frequently participating in weight-bearing activities or exercise also helps to lessen the chances of developing osteoporosis. Diabetes can be prevented or delayed by increasing your level of physical activity and maintaining a healthy well-balanced diet. A healthy diet and regular exercise along with maintaining an active physical and social life has also been suggested to prevent or slow down Alzheimer’s. While these are only a few ailments many seniors face today and some potential preventative measures for each, preventative health care and treatment options are available for nearly all senior health concerns.

Advice for Living an Active Adult Lifestyle Healthy adult lifestyles can often prevent health care issues from occurring or help seniors to improve their quality of life. Preventative senior care is vital to senior health and for keeping our body and minds fit as we grow older. Certain activities may thwart off illness, and will actually improve mental and physical functions. Here is a list of preventative health care activities for both the body and mind:

• Maintain a healthy diet – A healthy diet, rich in fiber, calcium, fruits and vegetables, is key in preventing or delaying most senior-related ailments. Providing your body and mind with necessary nutrients and vitamins is essential for senior health. • Exercise – Regular, non-strenuous daily exercise keeps your heart, bones, and other vitals working as they should. Physical activity can prevent a variety of physical ailments including heart attacks, and can help build up bone mass (helpful in the prevention of osteoporosis). However, it also has a large range of mental benefits, and helps to improve brain function – which is important in thwarting the progression of Alzheimer’s. • Leisure Activities – Leisure activities encompass anything that provides a relaxing environment combining a social, physical, and mental aspect. This improves areas in both the body and mind which has proven effective in preventing or slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s as well as many other senior health concerns. • Exercise Your Mind – Exercise your mind on a daily basis by learning something new, playing games, participating in social activities, reading, and anything else that challenges your brain and offers an opportunity to expand your knowledge.

Preventative Senior Care Generally, your family practitioner can help you decide where to go for certain diagnostic tests, or will perform the tests themselves. These tests may include anything from a bone density analysis to hearing tests to sleep studies. If you’re concerned about symptoms, see your doctor for advice on the correct path to take.

The Healing Properties of a Good Fibromyalgia Diet

All people who suffer from fibromyalgia are overwhelmed by its variety of symptoms. Fibromyalgia is considered to be a serious neurological condition that in time can lead to many complications. Although millions of people worldwide are confronted with fibromyalgia, the exact causes of the disorder haven’t yet been clarified. Despite the fact that scientists have been able to establish a connection between abnormal brain activity and the symptoms of fibromyalgia, the factors responsible for causing the disorder are still unknown.

The factors of risk that are considered to facilitate the occurrence and the development of fibromyalgia are stress, depression, inadequate sleeping patterns, inappropriate diet and unhealthy lifestyle. Although many people who are exposed to all of these factors of risk don’t develop neurological conditions, statistics indicate that all patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia have suffered from depression at certain stages of their lives and many of them have developed the disorder on the premises of insomnia, unhealthy lifestyle and inappropriate diet.

An appropriate diet is vital for maintaining both physical and mental balance and it can strengthen the immune system of the organism. A good fibromyalgia diet can be a very effective way of overcoming the symptoms of the disorder, normalizing and stimulating the activity of the body. Unhealthy lifestyle, stress, lack of sleep, smoking, the abuse of alcoholic beverages are all considered to be factors of risk in the development of fibromyalgia. By improving your lifestyle and by respecting an appropriate fibromyalgia diet, you will quickly feel improvements in your health. Also, an effective fibromyalgia diet can considerably ameliorate the symptoms of the disorder. Here are some tips in establishing an effective fibromyalgia diet:

- A good fibromyalgia diet should exclude alcoholic beverages and smoking; also, caffeine is known to have undesirable effects on the fragile nervous system of people with fibromyalgia and therefore, all products containing caffeine (coffee, tea, carbonated soda, cocoa and chocolate) should be excluded from the fibromyalgia diet.

- An appropriate fibromyalgia diet should contain less dairy products, especially those that contain high levels of fat; consider using soy replacements instead (soy milk, tofu).

- Consume less wheat products, as they are not well tolerated by people with fibromyalgia.

- Reduce the amount of sugar in your fibromyalgia diet.

- Stay away from food products that contain additives, colorants and preservatives.

- Avoid any kind of fried foods; consider eating more boiled and baked foods instead.

- Add more home-made meals in your fibromyalgia diet; consume more soups, as they are better tolerated by the stomach.

- Consume more liquids.

- Reduce the amount of salt and spices in your meals.

- Reduce the amount of meat in your fibromyalgia diet.

- Consume plenty of vegetables and fruits, as they are a vital source of vitamins and minerals.

- Consider taking mineral and vitamin supplements.

These are some basic tips in establishing a good, effective fibromyalgia diet. By respecting these suggestions in planning your fibromyalgia diet, you will soon begin to feel an amelioration of your symptoms. A good fibromyalgia diet can correct the sleeping problems that occur to most people with the disorder, also diminishing fatigue and the lack of energy characteristic to fibromyalgia.

Diabetes – Three Natural Ways to Prevent, Control and Treat

Almost everyone knows someone with diabetes. From 1980 through 2004, less than one-quarter of a century, the total number of Americans with diabetes more than doubled! Estimates show that about six percent of the American population or about 18.2 million Americans suffer from this life-long illness. And about 6 million of those people haven’t been diagnosed yet.

The causes of diabetes are well known. Diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body has lost its ability to regulate the levels of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. This is usually due to some interruption in the production of insulin. Insulin is the hormone in our body that lowers blood sugar levels. Without the hormone in our body, our blood sugar levels increase to dangerously high levels. Since all the organs in our body rely on a steady supply of glucose so they can function properly, any disruption blood sugar levels can have dire consequences. Diabetes often leads to blindness, heart and blood vessel disease, stroke, kidney failure, amputations, and nerve damage.

There are two major types of diabetes – Type 1 which is often called juvenile diabetes and Type 2 which is often called adult diabetes or adult-onset diabetes. Although diabetes can strike at any age, Type 1 diabetes usually strikes children and young adults. In Type 1 diabetes, cells in the pancreas called beta cells, these are the ones that make insulin to control blood sugar levels in our body, do not function. So in order to maintain or manage blood sugar levels, people with Type 1 diabetes must inject insulin or have it delivered by a small pump into their body. In effect, they must supply the insulin that the beta cells in their pancreas are not supplying. Type 1 diabetes accounts for about five to ten percent of all diagnosed cases of diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes is more common than Type 1. Type 2 diabetes generally affects adults. Type 2 adult diabetes usually begins as the body starts to resist the effects of insulin – sometimes called insulin resistance. The body just doesn’t use the insulin it makes effectively or efficiently. This inefficiency puts extra demands on the pancreas where insulin is made by the beta cells. Over time, the pancreas and beta cells can’t keep up and gradually begin to lose the ability to make insulin at all.

The American Diabetes Association estimates that nearly 6 million Americans are currently living with undiagnosed diabetes. The effects of an adult with diabetes may first appear as problems with their vision, nerves, kidney failure, heart attack, or stroke. It isn’t until these life threatening conditions occur that they realize they have been living with the chronic disease of diabetes. The symptoms of an adult with diabetes and the symptoms of a child with diabetes are recognizable: excessive thirst, craving for sweet foods, passing urine frequently, tiredness and weight loss. Although the onset of Adult Type 2 diabetes is gradual, the onset of Juvenile Type 1 diabetes is usually very rapid and sometimes life threatening when they first appear.

Why would anyone develop Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes? Can diabetes be passed down? The answer is maybe. Genetics and other family histories are being examined to determine whether Type 1 or Type 2 are hereditary, but the cause of Type 2 diabetes is more associated with lifestyle habits. Type 2 diabetes is often seen in people who don’t exercise, are obese, have a poor diet, and lead stress-filled lives.

Diabetes is ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in the United States but may be underestimated. The reason is that more than 60 percent of those with diabetes often die as a result of heart disease or stroke. And it is the heart disease or stroke that is listed as the cause of death. Because the causes of Type 2 diabetes are associated with lifestyle habits, there may be a NATURAL TREATMENT for Type 2 Adult Diabetes. There may be a natural treatment for the CONTROL of diabetes.

Here are three natural lifestyle habits to prevent, control, and treat diabetes.

1. Maintain a healthy weight. 90 percent of all people diagnosed with diabetes are overweight. According to the American Diabetes Association, even 5 to 10 percent reduction in body weight can result in a tremendous reduction in the risk or severity of diabetes. For most people, that’s only a loss of 10-20 pounds.

2. Exercise. Physical activity can lower your blood sugar (glucose) and help insulin work better for your body. That means your body is less susceptible to the development of diabetes. If you’re trying to lose weight as a natural way to prevent, control, or treat your diabetes, a combination of physical activity and wise food choice can help you reach your target.

3. Nutrition. Eating habits contribute significantly to the current increase in diabetes. Over the past 50 years, people have been eating more and more carbohydrates and sugar-filled foods. Eating a lot of carbohydrates each day puts stress on the pancreas which must work harder to maintain blood sugar levels. As the pancreas degrades, and you continue to eat the carbohydrates, you make yourself prone to Type 2 diabetes.

Maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, and proper nutrition are important. They are three natural lifestyle habits that you can do today to prevent, control and treat diabetes. Eating healthy and getting the proper nutrition means a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water and taking a nutritional supplement. Taking a nutritional supplement on a regular basis ensures you are getting all the vitamins and minerals your body needs, including your pancreas, to rebuild, regenerate, and operate at peak performance levels.

Dandelions And Your Health

Almost everyone hates that pesky weed called the dandelion. Every year when the weather gets warm sure enough some yard in your neighborhood will have a huge crop of dandelions. You cringe in fear and anger at the prospect of all those dandelions going to seed. Truly it will be an ill wind if any of those seedlings get blown into your carefully manicured lawn.

Most people don’t realize that the common dandelion is a very powerful detoxification agent. It has been used for generations to treat liver and kidney ailments of all sorts. Its detoxification power has also been used to treat respiratory problems, cure gastro-intestinal ailments and cleanse the circulatory system. It even is reputed to help dissolve some kidney stones.

In northern China, the dandelion is considered to be one of the top 10 herbs. But if you live in the southern hemisphere you probably have never seen a dandelion. Most people in North America and Europe are very familiar with the yellow flowered dandelion.

The word dandelion literally means “lion’s tooth” because of the jagged shape of the leaves. The French, however, tend to be a little more adventurous when it comes to naming things. They figured out the medicinal and detoxification value of dandelions a long time ago. Their name for dandelion is “pissenlit”. Can you guess what that translates to in English? You guessed it. It means, “piss in bed”.

The French gave it that name because dandelions are very powerful diuretics. In other words they very quickly cleanse and accelerate your urinary system. It is not uncommon for children playing in a field of dandelions to wet the bed later that night. It really isn’t the kid’s fault. The dandelions did it. This stimulation of the child’s liver also has a powerful detoxification effect. It flushes out all kinds of toxins.

Although dandelions are almost always treated as weeds they are listed by the US Department of Agriculture as one of the top vegetables for nutrition. They are chock full of all kinds of vitamins and minerals. But if you decide to experiment with the detoxification power of dandelions how do you go about preparing them? What part is eatable and what gets thrown out? All parts are eatable but generally only the flower and leaves are consumed. You can put the leaves in a salad and eat them that way. Or put a colander full of dandelion leaves in a juicer along with an apple and make apple-dandelion juice. Checking the internet for dandelion recipes will reveal a whole host of preparation options. Of course, make sure the dandelions you collect have not been treated with pesticides or weed killer. And to be safe thoroughly wash them before preparation. If you have liver or kidney problems make sure you consult with your doctor before trying dandelions.

Dandelions have also been reputed to remove warts. If you rub the yellow flower part on a wart and do this once a day for a month or so many people have reported that their warts go away. Of course this may just be an old wife’s tale. But if you have warts it certainly would not hurt to give it a try and see if it helps. There are many detoxification treatments and cures that work but have not yet been thoroughly tested and documented by doctors and scientists.

So when next spring brings a heavy crop of dandelions to your front lawn, don’t despair. Harvest them and put them to good use before you break out the weed killing pesticides. Clear the “weeds” but don’t let the detoxification power of dandelions go to waste.

Mineral Vitamin Supplements

The majority of mineral vitamin supplements are made from chemicals rather than natural substances. However, there is a steady growth in the demand for natural mineral vitamin supplements. This is due to the amount of debate that there is as to whether chemical mineral vitamins can be more harmful than beneficial in the long term.

The fact is that chemical mineral vitamin supplements are not as easily absorbed as normal food particles are. The mineral vitamin industry is constantly striving to create products that are more easily processed by the body and therefore more beneficial.

Every now and then the industry comes up with a new ‘more bio-available’ form of a vitamin or mineral. To overcome this, a large number of mineral vitamins have been developed that combine other elements with the vitamins and minerals to enable them to be more easily absorbed by the body. Iron is commonly combined to form iron gluconate which enable the mineral vitamin supplement to be more absorbable.

The amount of a nutrient in a mineral vitamin supplement needs to be far greater than it would be in a more natural form for the body to be able to absorb the amount that is required. This can obviously lead to problem where a toxic level of the particular nutrient is being consumed by the large doses of the mineral vitamin supplement that are needed. It is therefore extremely important that a person does not simply take vast quantities of all of the mineral vitamin supplements that are advertised on television and should seek advice from a health professional. It is also worth being aware of the developments in the mineral vitamin supplement industry as there are constantly new and better combinations being developed.

One method that mineral vitamin manufacturers have developed to help aid absorption is through culturing the raw materials with yeast cells. This form of mineral vitamins are known as ‘food state’ and are up to four times easier for the body to absorb the required nutrients as the yeast is completely digested.

Of course, the need for mineral vitamin supplements depends on the diet that a person has. There is no doubt that it is far more preferable for a person to obtain the nutrients that they require from their food rather than by taking mineral vitamin supplements wherever possible. During certain periods it may be necessary for a person to take mineral vitamin supplements on a temporary basis but their long term use is not recommended for a number of the supplements that are available.

Herbal Remedies For Acid Indigestion (Part 3)

Here you will find highly effective herbal remedies for acid indigestion and overall well-being.

Useful Herbs and Spices

The most important herbs for providing nutrients are the seaweeds (kelp, Irish, moss); yellow dock and dandelion.

Other beneficial herbs include catnip, ginger, marshmallow root, agrimony, calamus root, fennel, anise, cinnamon, peppermint, wild yam root, licorice root, dandelion, aloe vera, angelica, goldenseal, chamomile, lemon balm, slippery elm, dill, and parsley.

Most of the herbs mentioned above support the digestive process. Herbs such as aloe vera, goldenseal, and marshmallow help to improve metabolism by assimilating nutrients and removing toxins. To counteract excess acids in the stomach and intestines, dandelion and slippery elm are proven to be most reliable. Some herbs and spices (carminatives) that are most effective for gas relief or general bowel discomfort are anise, fennel, dill, ginger, and peppermint. To help the body relax during the healing process, chamomile is the most popular herb for all digestive complaints.

The best method of application is the herbal tea infusion and/or decoction. However, tinctures/herbal extracts and gelatin capsules are effective as well. Keep in mind that herbal teas need to be used immediately, whereas tinctures and capsules last for a longer period of time.

Recommended Diet with Herbal Therapies

For breakfast, eat a warm, cooked meal; for lunch, eat a cool meal with raw foods (include protein); for dinner, eat a light, cooked meal. This diet is harmonious with the body’s temperature and energy needs that fluctuate throughout the day.

Why are herbal spices an important part of our diet?

Without the ability to properly digest and assimilate our food, total wellness could not be achieved.

Herbal spices are helpful in the following ways:

-Contains volatile oils crucial for digestion

-Enriches the nutritional content of our food

-Prevents and relieves gas

-Soothes the walls of the digestive tract

-Improving digestion and assimilation of nutrients

-Adds flavor to favorite dishes

-Provides a natural alternative to synthetic drugs

-Stimulates the secretion of digestive juices

-Provides essential vitamins and minerals
